Though we’ve featured UK band Psychlona on Metal Injection previously, I just realized the members of the dirty band with a penchant for desert rock go only by their first names. Phil (guitars/vocals), Martyn (bass), Dave (guitar/vocals), and Scott (drums). You gotta love a band that digs cultivating a bit of mystery about themselves. On that vibe, Psychlona’s Phil told us what to expect from their latest track “La Tolvanera”:

“‘La Tolvanera’ was a tune I was messing around with for a while. I wanted it to be kinda spacey/spooky/chilled out but with some heavy as hell breaks in there too. Lyrically it’s loosely a sort of ‘big brother is watching a covert mission to get across the desert avoiding sinister beings and doing as you’re told if you want to eventually meet St Peter. A bit tongue in cheek really. ‘La Tolvanera’ is Spanish for dust cloud which adds to the secrecy of the mission. Maybe…”
One of the genres Psychlona delves in is psychedelia, and “La Tolvanera” spins mysteriously through the desert air, never settling until it has you in its grip. In fact, according to Phil, like that ever-spinning trippy dust cloud, Psychlona’s timekeeper Scott would have kept his outro on “La Tolvanera” going “all night” if the rest of the band had let him. Nice. Pre-orders are available on mind-expanding “GALAXY” vinyl at PsychoWaxx.com and all 3 singles are now available on all digital download & streaming platforms.
