Kerry King Might Be a Bit Overconfident About His Physique, Says The Rock Could Play Him in a Film

While answering fan questions in the latest issue of Metal Hammer, Slayer guitarist and recent solo artist Kerry King was asked who he thinks could play him in a movie or biopic about Slayer. That’s a fun little thought exercise that I’m sure many of us have done in the past. And while no one picks an unpopular or unattractive actor in this scenario, I think King might think really highly of his gym routine.

I only say that because King chose not only one of the most highly sought after and highest paid actors on the planet, but quite possibly one of the most jacked individuals as well.

“The only one that loosely fits the description is Vin Diesel. If you go down that road, you might also say The Rock [Dwayne Johnson], but I’m not nearly that giant. That would be awesome, though. I’ll say The Rock, because I like a lot of the stuff he’s in.”

Now, it should be said right off the bat that it’s only human nature to want to maybe pick the best actor to play you and it totally makes sense to want someone that looks physically better and more attractive than you. Both men are bald, both men have tattoos, but damn dude that’s largely where the similarities end. Just look at the images above for comparison:

On the left is a highly tattooed white dude with a long goatee, bald head, and relatively decent muscles and the other is Dwayne “The Final Boss/The Rock” Johnson. One can admire King for shooting the moon on that answer, especially since Vin Diesel ain’t no slouch in the workout department either, but damn bro.

King released his solo album From Hell I Rise earlier this year and has since toured with his solo band, as well as the newly minted Slayer “reunion.” In comparison, The Rock is back wrestling with the WWE and inserting himself into major storylines. Johnson has also starred in numerous box office smashes (as well as some major duds), which might not be too dissimilar to Slayer’s accomplishments.

Still, it’s funny to imagine The Rock donning fake head tattoos and pretending to play guitar that honestly? I kinda want to see that now…
