SEPULTURA, currently on their 40th-anniversary farewell tour, is recording a live album capturing 40 songs in 40 different cities to showcase their most powerful live performances. Guitarist Andreas Kisser shared that every show has been recorded, including with new drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who joined in March 2024. After performances across Latin America, North America, South Korea, and Europe, the band will return to Brazil to finish the tour, with the album expected next year.
Regarding SEPULTURA’s final show, Andreas mentioned the possibility of inviting former members, including the Cavalera brothers, to create a memorable farewell. Despite past conflicts with Max Cavalera, the band hopes to close their legacy in peace. The North American leg of their tour, starting in Chicago on September 17, features a lineup with OBITUARY, AGNOSTIC FRONT, and CLAUSTROFOBIA.
When asked about future plans post-tour, Andreas expressed interest in acoustic guitar and instructional materials, while vocalist Derrick Green plans to continue his TV show, “Highway To Health,” and explore voiceover work. Both are open to new musical ventures, with Andreas hinting at a reggae project they might collaborate on.
SEPULTURA’s farewell tour began in March in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, marking Nekrutman’s debut performance. Nekrutman, at 22, has gained recognition as an exceptional young drummer. His predecessor, Eloy Casagrande, departed SEPULTURA in February to join SLIPKNOT, a move that surprised the band just before their global farewell tour began.
