“Cyclone” was recorded as it was created, with guests, and yes it was a whirlwind of activity. Working on new songs, recording, touring in Europe and then New Zealand, neither of which we saw coming, rooted as we were within parameters that eventually tumbled into the past, just like we didn’t see now arriving in the way that it has, after how we thought things might go, yet there were all those discussions on the long drives to the next city, excellent conversations during meals with entities I still feel gratefully connected to, and the stimulating exchanges in the morning with strangers, basically, who spontaneously gave us a place to stay after shows.
