Forbidden is charging forward with new music and a revamped lineup. Guitarist Steve Smyth has departed to focus on his band, One Machine, citing scheduling conflicts. Forbidden expressed understanding and gratitude for his contributions. In his place, Daniel Mongrain of Voivod will be joining them for their upcoming European tour dates in August.
Meanwhile, Forbidden is deep into the pre-production of new music. The band is working collaboratively, with Craig Locicero, Chris Kontos, Matt Camacho, and Norman Skinner contributing heavily to the songwriting process. They are set to record the first three songs at Shark Bite Studio with Zack Ohren, with Mongrain adding his parts remotely from Quebec. The album will be produced by Locicero with assistance from Kontos, Mongrain, and Ohren, and they are exploring options for mixing. The band is excited about the new material and the collaborative spirit within the group.
