Axl Rose Stopped Band’s Performance To Nap

Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia and bassist Lexxi Foxx previously recalled when their soundcheck got delayed due to Axl Rose.

Axl Rose was taking a nap

During Appetite for Distortion, Ep. 147 (2019), Steel Panther members recalled the time when they were opening for Guns N’ Roses at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA, back in 2011.

Steel Panther got their soundcheck delayed as Axl Rose was taking a nap. Stix Zadinia said:

“We opened for GN’R at the Forum (2011), and we weren’t allowed to soundcheck because Axl was taking a nap. I’m not kidding……I say that story not as like – oh he’s a dick – I think it’s an awesome story. Like ‘guys, we’re gonna hold off on sound check…’ and we’re like, why?

He added: “We just got the call 3 days before the show…when you get the call to open for Guns N’ Roses, you answer it. We’re at the Forum in Englewood. And they’re like, ‘guys, we gotta hold off on soundcheck.’ We just want a soundcheck because we’re all excited…they’re like, ‘Axl’s taking a nap.’ Apparently, he was within earshot…and we’re like, what do you mean? why can’t he go on a bus? They’re like, ‘Axl’s napping. So, we got our football out, we started playing football on the floor.”

It has also come to light that one of the greatest debut albums of all-time is getting re-released as Steel Panther are set to unleash their 15th Anniversary Edition of their debut record Feel The Steel on November 28, 2024.

Steel Panther‘s line-up for their debut album consisted of frontman Michael Starr, guitarist Satchel, bassist Lexxi Foxx, and drummer Stix Zadinia. The group will be embarking on a Feel The Steel 15th Anniversary Tour with bassist Spyder officially replacing Foxx in September 2022.

Steel Panther‘s website indicates: “Limited edition, 15th Anniversary record of the debut album Feel The Steel on CD.
