Bill Burr told Eddie Vedder he was MAD at him!
Burr was sitting next to Vedder, and told him he was jokingly mad at Pearl Jam for knocking all his favorite metal bands off the charts. Bill says he begrudgingly came around to liking Pearl Jam, and Ed thanked him and was super nice.
At the “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” on February 14, 2025, at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Eddie Vedder delivered standout performances that paid homage to musical legends and the show’s rich history. Opening his set, Vedder honored the late Tom Petty with a heartfelt rendition of “The Waiting,” a track Petty originally released in 1981. This tribute resonated deeply with the audience, many recalling Petty’s memorable appearances on “Saturday Night Live.”
In a nod to “SNL” history, Vedder recreated Elvis Costello’s famed 1977 moment by abruptly halting his performance of “Less Than Zero” to launch into “Radio, Radio,” mirroring Costello’s original act of defiance against industry norms. This unexpected shift showcased Vedder’s appreciation for the rebellious spirit that has often graced the “SNL” stage.
Later in the evening, Vedder joined a medley of “The Lonely Island” hits, collaborating with artists like Andy Samberg, Lady Gaga, and Bad Bunny. Notably, he took on Michael Bolton’s role in “Jack Sparrow,” infusing the comedic number with his distinctive vocal style and adding a unique twist to the parody. This performance highlighted Vedder’s versatility and willingness to engage in the show’s comedic legacy.
Vedder’s contributions to the “SNL50” celebration underscored his deep connection to the show’s musical heritage, blending reverence with a touch of humor, and leaving a lasting impression on both attendees and viewers.
