The debate over which artists should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame is reignited every year, especially when rather significant bands and musicians are continuously snubbed – Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, The Smiths, Jon Bon Jovi, and Motorhead are just a few of the massive acts eligible who have yet to be inducted.

Passionate fans who vote and lobby for their favorites to be honored have grown angry, impatient, and bitter as they watch newly eligible artists being favored over some who have been waiting quite a few years.

Among the disappointed music fans is Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, who is determined to get legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden into the Rock Hall. “I will chew my leg off like a coyote in a trap if I can’t get Iron Maiden in. While there are many other deserving acts, Iron Maiden for me is the last, most egregious oversight in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Morello said recently in a conversation with Sirius XM’s Eddie Trunk.

He continued: “Iron Maiden is like the gold standard of metal bands and they’re not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I know Bruce Dickinson said he doesn’t really care. Well, I care as a fan.”

“I care very, very much about it. So I’m gonna do all I can to get, [using] whatever limited influence I have, to get Iron Maiden in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

Iron Maiden has been eligible for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction since 2005. Though they have been nominated twice in both 2021 and 2023, they have yet to be inducted.
