Eddie Vedder opens up on Grammy Awards
Pearl Jam had bagged the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. For many artists, the first Grammy Award is a memorable and exciting moment. But that wasn’t the case for Pearl Jam’s lead man Eddie Vedder. When Eddie Vedder walked up to the stage with his bandmates, his awkward speech helped to cement the moment in TV history. He went on to tell the audience just how pointless and meaningless he believed the honor really was.
“I don’t know what this means,” he admitted. “I don’t think it means anything. That’s just how I feel. There’s too many bands and you’ve heard it all before.
“My dad would’ve liked it; my dad died before I got to know him. He would’ve liked it, so that’s why I’m here. Thanks, I guess.”
Pearl Jam is set to embark on a North American tour this year. The tour will begin in San Diego, California on May 03rd at the Viejas Arena and ultimately conclude on September 22nd in Denver, Colorado at the Ball Arena. The group also entertained the fans with a 2022 European tour which will start at the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, the Netherlands on June 18th.
It is being also reported that Pearl Jam will be planning to give their fans even more as Pearl Jam is negotiating to headline multiple international Lollapalooza festivals in 2023. This information comes from the international music news outlet Music Trends Colombia.
