Fontaines D.C. drop horror-inspired video for “Here’s The Thing”

ROMANCE, the highly anticipated fourth album from Irish band Fontaines D.C., arrives later this month, and they’ve given us another early taste with “Here’s the Thing,” the third advance single. “It’s an anxious tune that twists and turns in what it wants, back and forth between pain and numbness,” vocalist Grian Chatten says. It comes with a video directed by Luna Carmoon, inspired by teen horror movies like The Lost Boys and Phenomena. Watch that below.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 about the track, the band’s Conor “Deego” Deegan III said, “I think it was a really special song to make. In some way, I think we just had a moment where we’re kind of fighting with each other. Weirdly for us, we reconciled and let it all out at once. That’s the tune. That’s what it’s about, really.”
