Paul Stanley recently talked about KISS’ experience with groupies.
Paul Stanley opens up on the deal
During a recent appearance on the Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, he said:
“The women who would come to shows weren’t coming there to be courted. You have tonight and we all know that. You know that and I know that. And it was very simple. And nobody got hurt. Nobody ever walked away feeling disrespected or diminished.”
Stanley continued, “We were very upfront and they were very upfront. They were there for a certain reason. So I don’t think anybody was deceiving anybody. And that’s why it was so much fun because it was uncomplicated.”
“You know, whatever your relationship is with anybody, hopefully, it’s uncomplicated, whether it’s somebody you’re involved with for a night or for a lifetime,” the rocker concluded his words.
Gene Simmons is known for sleeping with nearly 5,000 groupies. In a separate interview, the bassist shared that some groupies liked to wear the band’s black-and-white face paint while they were together.
He revealed, “I have painted it on women’s faces who wanted to wear it for the sex. Once I had a girl who had a tattoo of my face between her legs. I felt sorry for her boyfriends.”
Still, Simmons didn’t mix alcohol with his womanizing. He said in the same chat, “As soon as you get drunk you’re going to throw up on that chick you’ve been talking to, you’re going to throw up on the new shoes she’s bought. If you drink enough your d*ck won’t work and the next day you’re going to have a headache.”
“I think the relationships that happen on the road—one-night stands if will—are much more honest than a lot of the ‘let me take you out to dinner, gee you’re an interesting person’ [dates],” Simmons also previously noted.
KISS ended their career in December last year with a final show in New York City. Although the band won’t perform again, they will continue as avatars, which will kick off in 2027.
