Trump recently hosted a star-studded fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Tuesday and the aforementioned figures were a part of it. Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, was awarded the “Champion of America” honor.
The $5,000-a-plate gala drew prominent attendees and featured musical performances, a VIP reception, and award presentations. For an additional $3,800, guests gained access to an intimate poolside meet-and-greet. Organized by Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and benefiting the America’s Future political action committee (PAC), the evening celebrated conservative cultural and political icons.
Trump’s inaugural fund has received a massive donation of $1m to Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, the company confirmed on Thursday.
The donation, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, appears to be the latest effort by the social media company and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, to improve relations with the president, and it comes just weeks after Zuckerberg dined with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Meta confirmed its donation to the Guardian on Thursday. However, they did not provide details regarding the reason for the contribution.
During the dinner last month at Mar-a-Lago, the Meta CEO has congratulated the president-elect on his victory and the two “largely exchanged pleasantries”, as per the New York Times.
