KISS Member Wants ‘Revenge’ On Gene Simmons

Ace Frehley recently shared details regarding his relationship with his former bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.

In a new interview with Fox 5 Las Vegas, the interviewer asked if Frehley was talking to Simmons and Stanley, the rocker shortly responded, “Occasionally.”

“I’m doing great solo. Doing a lot of shows and the response, the album’s doing fantastic, ‘10,000 Volts,’” he added.

The rocker earlier dropped his ‘revenge’ plan against the two members.

“They would stifle my creativity,” the guitarist told Guitar Tales with Dave Cohen. “If I did a great guitar solo in the studio, they would never acknowledge it. ‘All right. We got that done. Let’s move on.’ I never got the adulation that I would have given other people. I never felt like they appreciated me and that’s not a good feeling.”

Frehley further shared that the greatest way to outdo them is to make a great record. “Paul and Gene put me down so many times. I said to Lara [Frehley’s ex-girlfriend] and she said to me, ‘The best way to get back at them isn’t to have a name-calling thing. Just make a great record. They haven’t done an album in 20 years.’”

The trio has experienced ongoing conflicts and has publicly criticized one another over the years. Although Frehley posted a heartfelt birthday message for his “one and only” former bandmate, Stanley, he later expressed criticism of Stanley’s singing. Frehley was also unhappy about not being invited to the KISS show at Madison Square Garden. Additionally, he took issue with Stanley’s comments on The Howard Stern Show, where Paul rejected the idea of Ace and Peter Criss rejoining the band.

Frehley also said that Paul was jealous of his solo success and doubted how Stanley would respond to his new album, ‘10,000 Volts.’
