Every week, we’ll be posting a new illustration by David Lester. The Mecca Normal guitarist is visually documenting people, places and events from his band’s 42-year run, with text by vocalist Jean Smith.
David’s very soft illustration of a woman who, as the lyrics in the song say, feels “Her Ambition” is fading away as her traditional relationship becomes mundane. I tend to steer away from very literal pairings like this one. I’m not sure if David was thinking of this song when he drew it.
