In September 2023, during Aerosmith’s “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour,” lead singer Steven Tyler, then 76, suffered a fractured larynx during a performance. Despite months of intensive rehabilitation and top-tier medical care, Tyler was unable to fully recover his vocal abilities. Consequently, on August 2, 2024, Aerosmith announced their immediate retirement from touring, citing the irreparable nature of Tyler’s vocal injury. The band expressed deep gratitude to their fans for over five decades of support and acknowledged the difficult but necessary decision to cease touring due to Tyler’s health challenges.
