Tom DeLonge Showed “Dead Alien” Photo to Trent Reznor at Ilan Rubin’s Wedding

In a recent episode of the “Go with Elmo Lovano” podcast, Foo Fighters drummer Ilan Rubin shared a bizarre story involving Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor at his wedding.

Rubin, who’s played with both NIN and DeLonge’s Angels & Airwaves, recalled that during the reception, DeLonge showed Reznor a photo of a “dead alien.”

“When my wife and I got married, we finish the ceremony. Everyone kind of goes to the reception or whatever, and she and I go up to the suite for her to kind of get out of the wedding dress and have some champagne. And we finally get down to the reception, where the first two people I see are Tom and Trent,” he remembered.

“And Tom’s a really tall guy, and he’s kind of just hovering over Trent. His phone’s out and I know how this goes: ‘Hey, check this out.’ And I’m thinking, ‘What is he possibly showing him right now?’”

Rubin continued: “I go straight up to them like, ‘Hey guys, how’s it going?’ Tom’s like, ‘Dude, congratulations. I’ll see you in a bit, I’m going to get a drink.’ And then I was like, ‘Trent, what’s going on?’ He’s like, ‘That dude just showed me a dead alien.’

“Nobody else could conduct themselves in that way and it be normal, but [Tom’s] just so unapologetically him. It’s infectious.”

Tom DeLonge’s obsession with UFOs and the paranormal is no secret. In 2020, his company To The Stars Inc. released three UFO videos that had been declassified by the Pentagon. A year earlier, he also starred in and produced the series “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation” for the History Channel.
