Def Leppard Announce New Album, Drop First Single “Kick”

Classic metal legends Def Leppard have officially announced their 12th studio album Diamond Star Halos, marking their first studio LP in almost seven years after their self-titled album back in 2015. As a bonus, they’ve gifted us all the record’s first single, so you can start getting hyped right this second!

The announcement comes just a few months before the band’s twice-delayed stadium tour with Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts is set to kick off. According to a press release, the album was influenced by “70s glam-rock artists such as David Bowie, T. Rex, and Mott the Hoople.” In fact the title Diamond Star Halos references a lyric in the T. Rex classic “Bang a Gong (Get It On).” The album will also feature guest artists Alison Krauss and David Bowie pianist Mike Garson.

The album drops on May 27th and is available for preorder. You can listen to “Kick” below. Let’s just hope that the pandemic doesn’t bone this tour back for a third time. Catch the band at one of the following shows:
