EDGE OF PARADISE’s MARGARITA MONET Names Her Six Favorite Album Covers

Los Angeles based cinematic hard rockers Edge Of Paradise will release their epic sixth studio album and Napalm Records debut, Prophecy on March 7. We teamed up with Edge Of Paradise frontwoman and Margarita Monet, who also does all of the bands artwork, to learn about the album covers that inspired her. Check out that list below and pre-order Prophecy right here.

Iron Maiden – Somewhere in Time

I always love futuristic elements in artwork, and this Derek Riggs piece, the cyberpunk, dystopian cityscape mixed with time-travel elements, makes such a visually immersive experience. I love how every inch of the artwork tells a story, so many hidden references and intricate details that you can keep discovering over time. I love how it captures that fusion of futuristic and classic metal aesthetics. Plus, Eddie as a futuristic gunslinger is my favorite.

The whole vibe feels like a cross between Blade Runner and heavy metal mythology. This type of larger-than-life storytelling is an inspiration for my art with Edge of Paradise. I always want our visuals to transport people into another world, one that feels cinematic, immersive, and filled with meaning beneath the surface. Whether it’s album covers, music videos, or stage visuals, I love incorporating futuristic elements that feel both grand and deeply personal, just like this artwork does.

Massive Attack – Mezzanine

The art is striking because of its raw, almost unsettling minimalism. That close-up of the beetle is bold and unexpected, it’s mechanical and organic, beautiful and ominous, and maybe a bit off putting. It perfectly reflects the album’s sound: dark, atmospheric, and layered with tension. There’s something futuristic yet primal about it, which draws me in. Just like the music, the cover feels both intimate and cinematic. I love when album art isn’t just an image but an extension of the world the music creates. And for me, thats always what i strive to do with my art, i want the imagery to bring the entire world of the song to life!

Within Temptation – Resist

The artwork is powerful because it visually embodies the album’s futuristic, rebellious spirit. The metallic, cybernetic aesthetic, mixed with a dystopian undertone immediately catches your eye. It feels like a call to arms, a blend of strength, defiance, and mystery. The muted, steely tones give it a cinematic, almost post-apocalyptic feel, as if you’re stepping into a sci-fi world where you are filled with resilience.

I love album covers that feel like a gateway into the band’s universe! With my artwork, I want to evoke emotion, inspire, and empower people through both music and visuals. I think that’s the true superpower we have as humans, our senses can awaken something deep within us, drive us to create, feel, and achieve incredible things. The key is how we choose to harness that energy.

Disturbed – Immortalized

The artwork for Immortalized really stands out to me, i love the jagged, otherworldly landscape. It feels like a post-apocalyptic or futuristic wasteland, yet there’s an undeniable power to it—like something ancient and unstoppable rising from the ruins. The way the figure emerges, almost like a guardian or a force of nature, adds to that sense of resilience and domination. This world feels both vast and intense. It’s the kind of imagery that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a larger-than-life story, which is something I always gravitate toward in both music and with my art.

Snow Patrol – Eyes Open

This art has this beautifully raw and emotional quality to it. The blurred, almost dreamlike embrace conveys a sense of longing, vulnerability, and connection, which ties in perfectly with the album’s themes. It feels deeply human, like a fleeting moment captured in time, both intimate and distant. I love how the monochrome tones give it a timeless, almost ethereal feel. It’s a feeling, much like the music itself, nostalgic, introspective, and cinematic.

This always makes me think about the importance of tones, not just colors. When I create art, I’m always mindful of how the tone of a color can completely shift the emotional landscape of a piece. Sometimes, after finishing a physical painting, I scan it and convert it into a digital graphic. Adjusting the tones on the computer can transform the entire feel of the artwork, and I love experimenting with that process afterward. It’s fascinating how subtle changes in tone can evoke entirely different emotions and bring new dimensions to a piece.

Rainbow – Rising

The Rising artwork is legendary, just like Dio. It has this larger-than-life, mythical energy that completely embodies the music and his voice. That massive, clenched fist rising from the sea, gripping a rainbow, is such a powerful and statement image. Epic, dramatic, and timeless. There’s something cinematic about it too, it looks like the cover of an epic fantasy story! I love album art that captures the feeling of the music in a way that’s both visual and emotional, and Rising does that so perfectly. It’s bold, it’s triumphant, and it’s pure rock!
