Former GUNS N’ ROSES Manager VICKY HAMILTON Confirms TV Series On Sunset Strip Music Scene

In a recent exclusive interview with Loudwire, Vicky Hamilton, the former manager of Guns N’ Roses, revealed that a television series centered around the vibrant 1980s rock scene on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip is officially in the works. Hamilton, who played a significant role in the early careers of major rock bands like Mötley Crüe, Stryper, Poison, and Faster Pussycat, is set to bring her unique experiences to the small screen.

During the interview, Hamilton shared insights into the motivation behind the project, reflecting on her past, including her time managing and booking shows for Guns N’ Roses before their rise to fame with Appetite for Destruction. Hamilton’s journey with the band was pivotal, as she helped them secure their crucial record deal with Geffen Records.

Hamilton, who published her autobiography Appetite for Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale in 2016, is no stranger to storytelling. In the interview, she also discussed Axl’s Glow — a painting she created of Axl Rose in 1993 during a period when she was coming to terms with the end of her professional and personal relationship with the band. Reflecting on that time, she noted, “It was a very sad time. I was trying to figure out what had actually happened and why it went down like that.”

With time, Hamilton found clarity. She shared: “I think once I started writing the book, I kind of got a sense of why that happened so that I would write this book. And this is the first time I’m really saying this out loud—I’ve done a deal with a production company, and it’s going to get made into a TV series.”

While details about the upcoming series remain sparse, Hamilton hinted that a highly creative writer, known for multiple successful TV shows, is attached to the project. The show will explore not just the story of Guns N’ Roses but also the broader rock scene of Los Angeles in the 1980s, featuring all the bands Hamilton worked with during that era.

Casting is still in the early stages, but Hamilton expressed her interest in actors like Finn Wolfhard and Elle Fanning for potential roles: “I kind of see it like a Daisy Jones & the Six, but like an ’80s version of that. I don’t know if legally they’ll be able to work out to use the real band names, but who knows?”

In addition to the series, Hamilton‘s painting, Axl’s Glow, is up for auction, with bidding open until August 26. Interested collectors can place their bids via Appetite for Distortion at [email protected].
