Good news! Immolation is set to work on the follow-up to their 2022 record Acts Of Gods. According to both bassist and vocalist Ross Dolan and guitarist Robert Vigna in an interview with Blabbermouth, Immolation is shooting to have their new record all wrapped up by mid-2025.
“It’s been a hectic couple of years, but yeah, that’s our main focus now. We’re looking forward to it,” said Vigna. “We’re going to buckle down and get it down. That’s definitely needed. We’re excited about it. It’s coming.”
Dolan added: “We purposely took off the first part of this year just to focus on the record. From now until mid-year, the album will be done. We’re already starting to plan out next year. It’s in the works.”
The new material should turn out just fine as long as Immolation keeps tuning to Bob. On that hilarious story, Dolan said in the interview he hopes it offers some hope to bands who might feel like they don’t know what they’re doing.
“If nothing else, the fans, for whatever reason, will get a real sense that we had no clue what we were doing,” said Dolan. “We were going along and making it happen as we went. There was no manual on how to do this. Everything was very DIY. We had a mission. We didn’t know how to achieve the goal. Hopefully, some younger bands who are starting out and read that, maybe they’ll get a sense of, ‘Okay, they were fumbling and failing as well.'”
