Drake rehearsing Michael Jackson’s ‘Rock With You’ appears in ‘100 gigs’ archive

Footage of Drake rehearsing a cover of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Rock With You’ has been unearthed in his 100gigs.org collection, a new release of 100GB worth of new data.

On Tuesday (August 6), the rapper dropped the website full of archived content, footage and data, which includes three previously unheard songs.

Amidst the content is footage of him rehearsing a cover of Jackson’s ‘Rock With You’ – and he can be seen walking around on a light-up floor in a nod to ‘Billie Jean’.

According to Complex, the 8-minute-long clip of his rendition of ‘Rock With You’ incorporates bits of ‘Don’t Matter To Me’ – a collaboration from his 2018 album ‘Scorpion’ made with one of Jackson’s unused vocal sessions.

The footage may have been from backstage during the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour, which took place shortly after Drake released ‘Scorpion’ and Migos dropped ‘Culture II’.

The 100GB website also gave fans insight into Drake’s artistic process. Other footage revealed that he originally wanted Future to collaborate with him on his hit 2015 song ‘Hotline Bling’.

According to Rolling Stone, other footage in the 100GB of data includes clips of Drake rehearsing with Rihanna for a live performance of ‘Take Care’, videos of him recording his feature in Kanye West’s ‘Yikes’, scrapped songs and extended versions of his previously shared tracks.

In another tribute to Michael Jackson, the USA synchronised swimming Olympic team moonwalked upside down underwater during an MJ-inspired routine on Monday (August 5).

During the performance, each of the athletes wore an outfit inspired by the singer, and delivered the routine to his 1987 classic track ‘Smooth Criminal’.

In the event, Team USA finished in fourth place after being given a score of 282.7567. The result put the team two points behind Japan and five behind Spain. China led the way in first place by an impressive 21 points.
