On 22nd November 2023, Singer/Songwriter Tony Moore Will Release A Song Called “Blood And Roses” Which Documents The Experience Of The Artist Meat Loaf Who, When He Was A Teenager, Got Caught Up In Events Surrounding The Tragic Assassination Of John F Kennedy In Dallas.
Singer/Songwriter Tony Moore will release a new single titled “Blood And Roses” on November 22nd, 2023, the 60th Anniversary of the assassination of John F Kennedy.
In late 2021 Tony was invited to write songs for the iconic singer Meat Loaf, by a friend who was in talks with the artist to produce his next album. Tony says “When I started researching Meat Loaf through interviews and articles I discovered that he grew up in Dallas, Texas and that, on November 22nd 1963, he and his two best friends actually got caught up in the terrible events which took place that day. I was inspired to write “Blood And Roses” to tell that story from his perspective.“
However, before Meat Loaf had a chance to begin making the new album, he tragically died at the beginning of 2022.
Tony subsequently decided to record the song himself and release it, both to mark the 60th anniversary of the day the world lost JFK as well as to document the little known fact that Meat Loaf and his friends became part of the story when they had their car requisitioned by a secret service agent who needed to get to Parkland Memorial Hospital as fast as he could to be where the President had been taken.
When they arrived at the emergency room entrance, the agent ran into the hospital leaving Meat Loaf and his friends in the car park, where they were confronted by the Presidential limousine unattended and covered in blood and roses.
The highly original drum part was played by one of Nashville’s most celebrated drummers Tommy Harden, who has played on thousands of songs including the number 1 hit “I Drive Your Truck”.The rest of the music was performed, recorded and sung by Tony.
To support the single release, Tony has also created a unique and cutting edge video using the latest AI technology to re-imagine that fateful day.
By a strange coincidence Tony had worked with Meat Loaf back in the mid 80’s when, for a short time, he played piano as part of the band for a Meat Loaf promo tour in the UK.
Tony Moore is a multi instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and highly experienced performer whose eclectic career in the entertainment business tells a unique story.
From being an original member of Iron Maiden to playing piano with Meatloaf to having an Xmas hit with his own band in Holland to joining Cutting Crew as keyboard player in the late 80’s and touring the world with the iconic hit song “(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight” Tony has been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of music.
