EYE AM have changed their name to SUN DONT SHINE. It would appear that the lack of apostrophe is intended, going by newly released press materials and the band’s own Facebook profile. That supergroup is a union of Crowbar vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, ex-Type O Negative guitarist/vocalist Kenny Hickey and drummer/vocalist Johnny Kelly, and ex-Crowbar/Down bassist Todd Strange.
Hickey spoke of the group’s continued vision “I don’t want our music to be one-dimensional. I don’t want it to be just dark and doomy or always so heavy. I want it to be both light and dark, dynamic and unpredictable.”
While it is unclear as to why the change in moniker took place, the group have assured fans that it doesn’t represent a stylistic shift, as they offered, “Everything is gonna stay the same except the name.”
