Melvins, etc. drummer Dale Crover and Mr. Bungle bassist Trevor Dunn took on the rhythm section duties for the upcoming new album from Low Flying Hawks. That record has been titled “Makebelieve” and is due for an October 25th release on Sympatry Records.
You can hear the pair on the newly released single from the opus, “Out For Blood“. The band’s guitarist AAL said of “Makebelieve“:
“The record is about how the world changed when everyone started not believing anything and being very aggressive. Everything was peaceful, and suddenly everyone was barking back. It goes deeper too. With A.I., you just don’t know what to believe. It’s like the world was out for blood. Who did this? Why is it happening? Everything settled, and we all surrendered to the idea of being held hostage.”
Vocalist EHA added:
“We don’t want to give people the same thing we’ve given them for the last three albums. On Makebelieve, we used amps and pedals we’ve never used before. The whole idea was to make it more crushing.”
Recording sessions for this record took place under Melvins associate Toshi Kasai. Pre-orders are available through Bandcamp.
