SODOM have announced a new album!
Titled The Arsonist, the upcoming album from the veteran German thrash metal band is the follow-up to 2020’s Genesis XIX (and 2023’s 1982 EP), and is scheduled to be released in June this year, via SPV/Steamhammer.
To enable the most natural production possible, the drum parts for the new were recorded using a 24-track analogue tape machine. Frontman Tom Angelripper shares, “no plastic! The difference in sound compared to today‘s standard drum productions is amazing and has had a positive effect on all the instruments. Naturally, time and effort as well as costs were also higher, but we‘re happy to fork out for a superior result.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new song from the upcoming album; Trigger Discipline.
