Fortnite is the current king of battle royale games, having been released in September 2017, two months after the game’s original co-op survival campaign. However, after the massive success of the free-to-play battle royale, Epic Games has entirely shifted its focus to supporting the game mode, finding a new resurgence with the popular Zero Build Fortnite update. Making it one of the most popular and successful games of not just the past five years but in gaming as a whole. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball is one of the most famous Japanese manga/anime franchises. Initially created by Akira Toriyama in 1984, it has continued to survive and thrive all the way to 2022.

On August 18, Fortnite will be running the Tournament of Power across all regions. This tournament will be a competitive duo mode where players can “play up to ten Fortnite matches within your region’s three-hour time window,” according to Epic Games. To compete in this game mode, players must have their Epic Games account 2-Factor Authentication set up and verified, as well as an account level of at least 50. Throughout the matches, players will have to earn points to earn the prizes, although these are separate from unlocking the Dragon Ball character Fortnite skins. A team’s placement will earn them a set amount of points, starting at 25, 22, and 20 points for first, second, and third respectively. Then starting at 18 for fourth place, and going down numerically until one point for teams 24 and 25. Eliminations will be worth one point, and eliminations with the Kamehameha weapon will count as a point on its own separate leaderboard.

Dragon Ball Rewards For Fortnite’s Tournament Of Power

The three rewards each have their own requirement for acquisition. First is Goku’s Kanji Banner Icon, earned by obtaining eight points. Followed by the Beerus Eating Spray, which can be achieved by getting three points with Kamehameha eliminations. This reward is important to note as some felt it would be pointless if there was no Kamehameha in Fortnite‘s crossover. Lastly, the Angry Vegeta Emote is acquired by placing in the top 50% on the leaderboard.

Most players that compete and play all ten allowed matches should be able to obtain the Icon and Spray. The emote will be a tad tougher and stands as the competitive goal of this event, making the Tournament of Power a good balance between casual and competitive achievement. These rewards will be possible to earn on August 18, along with other Dragon Ball cosmetics during the Fortnite crossover.
