It’s not surprising that Stephanie is traumatized after her kidnapping.
Days of Our Lives often drops the ball on the psychological effects of violent plots, but not this time.
Instead, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-06-26 promise that Stephanie will continue struggling, and she is far from the only person whose life will fall apart.

Stephanie’s PTSD Takes a Dark Turn
Days of Our Lives sometimes doesn’t realize how much dramatic gold there is in therapy scenes, which is unfortunate.
Stephanie has a rich history.
She’s already asking herself why she has been attracted to several men who abused her, and this question, along with the pressure of living up to her parents’ legacies, would make for a fantastic storyline that involved sessions with Marlena and making changes in her life that didn’t entirely feel comfortable.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that the Peacock soap is going to go there.

The good news is that Marlena is going to speak with Stephanie this week, so the therapy plot won’t be left completely hanging.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-06-26 promise that Marlena and Stephanie will explore Stephanie’s feelings about Alex, but it’s unlikely that this will meet many of Stephanie’s needs.
For one thing, trauma can’t be reduced to a single conversation about someone’s primary relationship after the traumatic event.

And for another, a spoiler clip has Stephanie telling Alex that she feels so unsafe that she wants to get a gun.
To be clear, recent trauma doesn’t necessarily mean that someone can’t be a responsible gun owner. However, considering the rigamarole we just went through involving several gun-wielding angry people confronting EJ before the real shooter was discovered, this plot idea sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Stephanie getting a gun seems likely to go in only two directions: either she will eventually attempt to shoot herself, or someone will use her gun to kill someone else.
Owen is supposed to be in prison, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up dead, and Stephanie is accused, although that would seem redundant considering that Jeremy just survived months of being falsely accused of stalking her.
Let’s hope Jeremy isn’t the one who gets shot just to make it appear Alex did it. That would be a terrible end to his story!
There are no official spoilers saying that anybody gets shot, but another gun floating around Salem suggests it’s likely, which is why I’m spitballing about who it could be.
In any case, Stephanie’s doubts about Alex would make more sense if her problem were solely that she couldn’t deal with him touching her. Even though I’m glad that Jeremy was exonerated, I don’t want a triangle based on the idea that Jeremy was there for her when they were kidnapped together.

That would seem more like trauma bonding than a real connection, especially since Jeremy is still struggling with the same temper issue that led him to abuse Stephanie earlier in the first place.
Meanwhile, EJ Is Poised to Cause Chaos For Abe and Paulina
Lexie will finally open her eyes this week, which I’m relieved about. I was seriously worried that she’d stay unconscious for five months and then be whisked off to some secret rehab center, never to be seen again!
Do you like this Lexie resurrection story?

Once Lexie does awaken, it’s guaranteed to cause a ton of problems in Salem, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-06-26 promise that that’s exactly what will happen.
For one thing, Abe and Paulina will, predictably, find themselves on the opposite side of this issue.

I don’t imagine that Abe will immediately leave Paulina for Lexie. He should be torn more than that, since he considers both women the loves of his life.
Additionally, we don’t know yet what Lexie’s mental state is. Historically, people who are resurrected suddenly on Days of Our Lives have had severe memory loss, and even if Rolf’s new formula is supposed to resolve that problem, Lexie died in 2012 and may think it’s still that year.
That would be a more interesting and emotional story than the typical amnesia and lack of awareness of their relationship with the person who had been grieving for years that we usually get, assuming this story is done well.
Additionally, of course, both Paulina and Theo knew that EJ was working toward resurrecting Lexie, and neither told him.
Honesty is extremely important to Abe, so when he finds that out, he’s going to be doubly hurt, and it’s not clear whether he will blame the DiMeras rather than his wife and son — especially Paulina, who already disappointed him by encouraging Theo to follow his heart instead of warning him away from DiMera Enterprises.

I’m also not sure how this weird news will affect Johnny and Chanel. Chanel is supposed to have a surprising change of heart this week, and it might be that she rescinds her decision to allow EJ into their lives on a limited basis.
There are several other characters who are suffering for various reasons on Days of Our Lives during the week of 4-06-26. Leo will be torn between Dmitri and Javi when they both return, while Kristen will force Sophia to help her get revenge on EJ and Marlena.
