Jerry Rice, the record-breaking wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL and one of the most famous football players of all time, recently sat down with Screen Rant to discuss NFL Blitz Legends. Based on the conversation, it looks like Arcade1Up’s newest cabinet will be a must-have for many NFL fans.
What is it about the NFL Blitz series that people respond to, what really sets it apart from the other football games out there?
It’s that you get a chance to live with those legends. Those incredible plays – like when I played Super Bowl 23 on that final drive, or when I broke Jim Brown’s record – 126 touchdowns – on a Monday night against the Oakland Raiders. You have people that actually live through us. I hear from fans still till today that if I caught a 5-yard slant, and I’m running 95 yards, they’re running right alongside the television, or they’re running in the stands. So, I think it’s for those experiences. It’s priceless.
So, who’d be your favorite person to play as in NFL Blitz Legends?
Probably a receiver. Someone like Dwight Clark, Drew Pearson, [Donté] Stallworth – all those guys. Or Deion Sanders, defensive back – and he was a punt returner, too. He could really put points on the board. I think defensive backs are the most gifted players on the field, and he’s one of the best. That’s the great thing about playing as these legends. There are moments you just won’t forget.
