Every week, we’ll be posting a new illustration by David Lester. The Mecca Normal guitarist is visually documenting people, places and events from his band’s 43-year run, with text by vocalist Jean Smith.
In case you hadn’t noticed, David gets a whole lot done. Yet, even with the amount of discipline he employs, he manages to have quite a bit of fun. I thought he was super busy working on his upcoming book on Emma Goldman, then, out of left field, there’s a two-page spread where he interviews a traveling artist and orchestrates a round-up of recent graphic novels he’s read. What a whirlwind he is!
