The ever-expanding run of singles from crossover outfit Extinction A.D. has now grown with the arrival of “Insomnia”. The track marks the seventh song to emerge online from the group in 2026 thus far.

Vocalist/guitarist Rick Jimenez (This Is Hell) commented on it:
“I can’t be the only one that feels like they’re bombarded with the atrocities of the world on a daily basis, right? I feel like there are constant reminders of human rights violations and the impending doom of the planet and then a ‘brush it off and just go to work’ mentality. It’s difficult to break that cycle but understanding it and raging out against it is my first step. Living life with a PEOPLE OVER PROFIT mentality is an act of defiance unto itself today.
‘Insomnia’ is a very enjoyable song to put together musically. The majority of it is variations on one riff throughout with little nuances or key changes separating it from part to part. I was also able to use the first guitar I ever owned on the interlude section; a scaled down nylon string acoustic Franciscan guitar that I got in the spring of 1992.”
