Unearthing The Metal Underground: The Green Goblins
The Green Goblins’ journey is damn-near a decade long at this point. According to their own self-reporting, they began simply with a guitar, violin and bagpipe as a street music band in the Switzerland-Germany-France border area. Upon their inception, what is now a quartet, the unit was quick to establish itself with its distinct mix of traditional Irish folk, classic metal and classic rock delivered with a modern spin that includes, however much the band would like to admit this or not, noticeable aspects of pop punk simplicity and potent punch in the vein of a band like Green Day who has always known the importance of a good hook.
What was once merely a street band that has since conquered festival stages, medieval markets, pubs and concert halls has properly cemented itself as anything but a flash-in-the-pan burst of creativity. Come 2026, the European band is set to release a dozen songs via a banger of a self-titled release that will be available on October 2, via Metalville. Whatever staying power the unit may have will become clear with the passage of time. But there is no question that the band is leaping upward toward the stars. However successful or not their effort in grasping those stars is one thing, but there is no question that their enthusiasm is exciting and admirable.
