Veteran rock vocalist, songwriter and producer Don Chaffin is heading to Nashville for the 12th Annual Josie Music Awards, where Scarecrow’s “Twisted” is nominated for Song of the Year – Metal/Alternative Metal.
The Josie Music Awards will take place September 20 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, bringing together independent artists, songwriters, producers and music professionals from around the world.
For Chaffin, the trip carries special significance. He is the co-writer and co-producer of “Twisted,” a Blaze/Chaffin production created alongside his longtime creative partner John Blaze. The nomination puts a national spotlight not only on Scarecrow, but on the creative team behind the song.
Chaffin has built an impressive career as a vocalist, songwriter and producer. Born on Long Island, New York, he has toured throughout the United States and shared stages with artists including Godsmack, Foreigner, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Powerman 5000, Dr. John, Steve Howe of Yes, Robbie Krieger of The Doors and Vanilla Fudge.
He is also known as the lead vocalist of Voices of Extreme and has worked with an extensive list of respected names throughout his career. His background includes collaborations and projects connected with Dan Spitz of Anthrax, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden, Ace Frehley of KISS, Jim Bralower, Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz.
Beyond performing, Chaffin has established himself behind the scenes as a songwriter, producer and studio professional through DCity Studios. That combination of stage experience, songwriting and production expertise has made him an important part of the team behind “Twisted.”
Now, that work is taking him to one of music’s most legendary venues.
With “Twisted” nominated for Song of the Year – Metal/Alternative Metal at the 12th Annual Josie Music Awards, Chaffin will arrive in Nashville celebrating another major moment in a career built on rock and roll from both sides of the studio glass.
