Punk rock icon Jello Biafra returned to the stage in San Francisco, CA last Saturday, June 27th, serving as the host for ‘Tentacle Fest‘. The former Dead Kennedys frontman even managed to hit the stage with Wheelchair Sports Camp during the event. He reprised his role on that band’s track “Make It Make Sense“.
The 68-year-old musician/activist suffered a hemorrhagic stroke this past spring, and since then has been on the road to recovery. Given last weekend’s proceedings, it would appear that he’s well on his way.
Alternative Tentacles, a label co-founded by Biafra in 1979, commented via social media of his triumphant return:
“Not only was TentacleFest was an amazing show, it also featured the return of Jello Biafra to the stage! Check out this clip of Jello coming out to sing “Make It Make Sense” with Wheelchair Sport Camp! Thank you to Crisis Actor for the clip!
Huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate all things Alternative Tentacles with us! Thank you to the amazing Great American Music Hall for hosting us. Huge thank you to our amazing bands Wheelchair Sports Camp, Death Hymn Number Nine, Voodoo 5, Vic Bondi And His Issues, and Crisis Actor for their incredible performances!
Where should we have the next one?”
