Mulit-platinum funk rock outfit the Red Hot Chili Peppers have had a whirlwind release week for their twelfth studio album, “Unlimited Love“. This past Thursday, March 31st, saw them honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Yesterday (April 01st) then saw the release of the aforementioned album, along with a surprise show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. It also saw the airing of two previously recorded musical performances on both ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘ and ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon“.
The simulcast of sorts was part of an April Fool’s day edition of the aforementioned late night talk shows, which saw their respective hosts swap shows with each other. The Chili Peppers performed “Black Summer” on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “These Are The Ways” on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘, both can be found below.
The aforementioned live show and performances served as the band’s first with guitarist/vocalist John Frusciante since reuniting with him in 2019. The group will be out on the road this summer and beyond supporting “Unlimited Love” at the following shows:
