Formed in 2020 from the ashes of Deathproof, Finland-based Blood Red Delusion will release their third album, Bloodlust Awakening, on the 13th of March. Following two previous full-length albums and over one hundred live shows, the band has evolved into a more uncompromising and focused force. Their melodic death metal is now heavier and tighter than ever, packed with aggression and explosive, hard-hitting energy.
The upcoming album is a relentlessly forward-driving, diverse body of work that explores a wide range of emotions and themes integral to the human experience. Stories of rage, grief, and anxiety are deeply embedded in the lyrical content of the songs. The first single from the forthcoming album, Devastating & Profound, has been released, along with a music video that showcases not only the music but also the band’s raw, straightforward attitude.
“A song that begins with a slow and heavy opening riff and deals with the difficulty of loss. It contains an oppressive atmosphere, speed, intensity, and a catchy chorus, topped off with a climactic guitar solo battle that rises into epic territory with a powerful dual solo,” guitarist Juuso Laitinen summarizes.
