Pirosaint is a very curious band since its beginnings go back 30 years, in Santiago de Chile, however, it was only in 2021 that the group presented its debut album: KNOW THYSELF, but with the label of being a New York band.
During the 90’s, this group released two demos and an EP, making noise in a scene that still did not have the current technological advantages. In the first half of the last decade Pirosaint published eight singles
If we analyze their discography, we can say that they have already released a full-length. In 2013 (nine years ago!) Pirosaint presented INFECTED BRUTALITY, where the band brought together his first two works in a remastered version that served for many to listen to the band for the first time.
In 2018, the first single of what would become KNOW THYSELF was released: “Faster Than Before”, a piece whose simple lyrics are forceful when constructing a speech.
Three years later “Juanzer” was presented, a tribute to Juan Álvarez, a Chilean musician and music promoter who witnessed the development of the scene since the 1970s. This served as a prelude to finally publish KNOW THYSELF, a work composed of eleven| unpublished pieces.
It’s interesting to listen to the album because, although its production is excellent and the sound quality proves it, the composition and the technical skill seem to be taken from 25 years ago; It’s like the band is still writing exactly the same as it was in 1990.
KNOW THYSELF es un álbum que brilla por todos los años que tuvieron que pasar para que Pirosaint finalmente lo hiciera. Es la cristalización de un sentimiento que el tiempo y las circunstancias nunca pudieron detener o extinguir.
