Fortnite and Dragon Ball have finally collaborated in a crossover, with some dangerously powerful characters making their way into the battle royale arena. Fears about the update being pointless if Fortnite didn’t bring in the Kamehameha can now be put to rest because it is indeed the game’s latest weapon. All the new character powers are going to drastically change how players achieve victories.
As of August 16, the Fortnite x Dragon Ball update is live to play once the patch is downloaded and installed. In addition to the new characters, Fortnite has also brought in engaging quests and rewards that players can complete and earn. Not only that, there’s even a Dragon Ball Adventure Island that players can visit in creative mode and watch the TV show together, among other activities. Until recently, there had only been speculation about a Dragon Ball crossover coming to Fortnite, but Epic Games confirmed those speculations earlier this month.

There are a total of four Dragon Ball characters that came into Fortnite for the crossover: Goku, Bulma, Vegeta, and Beerus. All four characters are important to the series in one way or another, so it’s awesome to see both parties bring in fan favorites. Along with the characters, players can also purchase matching back bling and pickaxes in the item store to go with their Dragon Ball outfit.
Goku Headlines The Fortnite x Dragon Ball Crossover Characters
Son Goku, more commonly known as Goku, is the most recognizable Dragon Ball character in the crossover mash-up, and his skin is much better than any of the Marvel and DC Fortnite characters. Multiple anime series follow the story of Goku, and he’s easily the face of the entire franchise – even those who’ve never watched the show have probably seen an image of him before. The trailer showed Goku and Vegeta dueling with powerful Kamehamehas in the middle of a battle royale, which gave Fortnite an awesome Dragon Ball vibe.
The other three Dragon Ball characters, Bulma, Vegeta, and Beerus, also add to the overall experience in the crossover. Bulma, who’s Goku’s adventure partner and Vegeta’s wife in the show, was a great addition; her Capsule Corporation is also featured in the update. Although Goku is the best overall character of the four, Beerus has the coolest looking skin. Just like the anime, he has his traditional God of Destruction apparel. At this point, Fortnite has more crossovers than Super Smash Bros., and Dragon Ball is the newest addition to the list. But out of all the others, it’s one that fans actually wanted to see.
