Host, Premiere Date, Trailer, and More

Get ready for a summer filled with music. Beat Shazam is back for another season, and the Season 8 premiere date was just announced.

Beat Shazam is a game show that premiered in 2017 on Fox. The show is hosted by Jamie Foxx, who also serves as the executive producer. His daughter, Corinne, serves as the DJ for the show, playing the tunes for the contestants, which feature songs from the Billboard Hot 100.

Season 8 was renewed in 2024 and was set to air in mid-2025, but was put on hiatus. Now, the show is coming back for another summer. A reason was not given for the delay.

The game show has given away over $10 million in winnings. Season 8 will reach the show’s 100th episode. For this celebration, Beat Shazam will feature special themed episodes throughout the season, including ladies’ night, teams of NFL fans, heroes, college students, teachers, best friends, and couples.

Here is everything we know about Season 8 of Beat Shazam.

When does Season 8 of Beat Shazam premiere?

In a June 1 press release, it was announced that Season 8 will premiere on Tuesday, July 28, at 9/8c on Fox. The show runs for one hour and will continue to air on Tuesdays throughout the season.

Who hosts Beat Shazam?

Jamie Foxx hosts the game show. Both he and Corrine will be back. When Foxx was hospitalized in 2023, Nick Cannon took over for him and had Kelly Osbourne be the DJ for Season 6.

What is Beat Shazam about?

Three teams of two players stand behind a podium and try to be the first contestants to buzz in with the correct song. They have to “beat Shazam” before the musical app can figure out the song.

They bank money for each correct answer in four different rounds. The highest-scoring team then plays head-to-head against the Shazam app.  They have to try to name up to six songs, this time without any options, before Shazam does. If they correctly identify the six songs, they win $1 million.

Who competes on Beat Shazam?

The game show features everyday civilians competing for money. It has yet to have a celebrity version.
